La Pobla is a village located in the Garrigues region. It is the only municipality in this region declared a mountain area, situated at approximately 670 meters above sea level.
Currently, we are about 250 inhabitants, although during the summer months there is a considerable increase in population. All residents of La Pobla and friends of the village can enjoy the Town Festival (celebrated the weekend before the Feast of the Assumption, which is on August 15th), the municipal swimming pool area with leisure facilities and a tennis court, and the numerous activities organized during the summer, both day and night.
Throughout the rest of the year, you can join the villagers in celebrating the Olive and Orelletes Fair in December, and the Winter Town Festival, which takes place in November, the weekend before or after November 21st. We also take the opportunity to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Jonquera, the patron saint of our village.
Currently, we have three quite important sporting events for the life of the village, as follows:
– La Transllena: a mountain race and popular walk held on the third weekend of August.
– La Cérvoles on Bike: a bike ride for different levels and ages held on the second weekend of November.
– Mid-distance Mushing Race: held on the first weekend of December.
