About Costers del Sió, a winery in the Ribera del Sió (Noguera)

In a place on the Ribera del Sió called Flix, ancient stables and reserve of the counts of Urgell (798-1413), the Porcioles-Buixó family has created a winemaking project aimed at obtaining high quality wines, with all the nuances and tastes that this riverside, due to its soils and its microclimate, can offer us.

The estate and organic vineyards of Costers del Sió

The estate has an extension of 700 hectares, of which 80 are dedicated to the cultivation of the vine. All the vineyards are in the process of conversion to organic agricultural production and in recent years winemaking has also been recovered in old stone trullos from the 11^th century.

Tradition and innovation in the winemaking of Costers del Sió wines

In 2016, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the winery, the first wine produced in the recovered stone trullos was presented, called the FINCA SIÓS. This wine is a reflection of what Costers del Sió wants to be, a winery that combines: innovation (with its facilities of the most advanced technology), tradition (with the recovery of ancestral production procedures) and commitment to the territory (with the participation in numerous events of a social and charitable nature).
