The Brasa d’Or restaurant is a project that was born in August 2002 in Lleida when Oscar Ruiz, then owner of the well-known Iris bar in the Pardinyes neighborhood, decided to give a boost to his gastronomic career by opening a larger restaurant. Thus, Brasa d’Or emerged, located near the Mangraners neighborhood of Lleida, just at the entrance to the city from Tarragona, in a peripheral area of Lleida but with great economic activity, as it is at the confluence of the Frares, Mecanova, and Segre industrial estates, the most important in the city.

Despite its location near industrial zones, Brasa d’Or aims to avoid the label of a typical industrial estate restaurant. The idea is to offer quality cuisine accessible to those who will eat there daily, but also to satisfy the most demanding palates by offering them a high-level menu full of excellent products.

More than two decades after its opening, the restaurant is one of the references in the city, not only for its daily menu and well-known dishes like Thursday’s paella, but also for its hearty breakfasts, à la carte business lunches, family celebrations, group and corporate meetings, and its wine list where Costers del Segre DO wines play a leading role. Quality and seasonal, locally sourced products are two of Brasa d’Or’s cornerstones, and together with the wood-fired grill visible in the main dining room, they shape the identity of the restaurant that has led it to be recognized and well-known in Lleida today.
