The history of Raimat goes back to 1914 when Manel Raventós i Doménech, the owner of Codorníu, acquired some barren and infertile land to turn it into what is today the largest farm in Europe in the hands of the same family. In a unique environment, with pure water from the melting snow of the Pyrenees, the Raimat modernist winery is established today with its vineyards certified as sustainable and ecological.
Raimat is one of the most important benchmarks in sustainable viticulture and manages to offer high-quality wines with a unique personality from grapes coming exclusively from its own estate, always flagged for maximum respect and conservation of the environment.
Raimat is the expression of the wines of Lleida, a land recognized for the quality of its fruit, where the continentality of its climate means that the grapes of this estate produce intense and tasty wines. Hunting is prohibited in the Raimat vineyards. This fills the place with life: birds, rabbits, partridges, foxes, etc., because everyone plays a fundamental role in this delicate balance. The vines and the grapes are part of this whole, which is why farming techniques must try to respect this balance.
The winery has recently started a new project: Raimat Natura. The purpose: for families to enjoy the natural space of the Raimat estate. More than 700 hectares that have become a unique ecosystem and that today are home to more than a hundred species of flora and fauna. At Raimat Natura, you can enjoy nature, healthy activities (electric bike, Nordic walking…), unique food and wine experiences and even hot air balloon rides, and all of this in the midst of an incomparable landscape.
