This century-old winery was the first to produce and label ageing wines in Catalonia and it is located in the historic estate of the most important agricultural colony of the late 19th century, where the first signs of winemaking date back to 1780, although there are previous vestiges of the Roman era.
It was a pioneer in the importation of French strains and obtained numerous prizes in International Exhibitions.
Currently, it receives awards and high scores. It exports its wines to more than 40 countries: Garnatxa from the Castell del Remei, Sícoris, White Gotim, Gotim Bru, White Oda, Oda and 1780.
The visit to the winery covers the old and current grape reception and product dispatch facilities, the vinification room, the ageing rooms, the bottling room and the tasting room. It offers wine tasting, educational visits for students and introductory tasting courses.
The touristic offer has the lure of its landscape and its history, key in the construction of the Canal d’Urgell. We can see a mill, a distillery, a cooperage and a blacksmith shop. In a landscape of vineyards, groves and lakes, the castle itself, the sanctuary of the Virgin of Remei and the restaurant of the estate coexist with nature.
The Castell del Remei restaurant is located in an area where you can enjoy nature and where tranquillity is of great value, in a historical and reference framework, a meeting point between all the regions of the Lleida plain.
